America’s flag unites Americans

On June 14, the American people mark a very important day in American history.

It was on June 14, 1777, that the United States flag was authorized by Congress. The American flag’s red and white stripes symbolize hope and purity, and the blue symbolizes loyalty, sincerity and justice. The red and white stripes represent the original 13 colonies, the white stars on a blue field represent the individual states that make up the United States of America.

The American flag was created in 1777 to inspire national unity and create a separate identity from Great Britain. It was created in the midst of the American Revolutionary War and

has united Americans ever since. The American flag is also the symbol that helps rally supporters of the Buy American Made Campaign, and we urge everyone to fly the American flag to show our unity and concern for America, the greatest country on earth.

For over 20 years, the Buy American Made Campaign has encouraged our fellow Americans to seek out products made in America and support the services provided by American workers. Every time we support America’s businesses and American workers, we salute our flag and help our fellow Americans and America’s economy.

Fly your American flag proudly and encourage your family and friends to support the Buy American Made Campaign.

Your participation is appreciated and your suggestions are always welcome. Email them to Michael@AmericanWorkersRadio.com.

Law, but no order

When now-retired 6ABC’s Vern Odom grabbed his mic and did a standup in front of The Roundhouse, you knew it was a police story. Now local TV reporters wander up and down sidewalks in front of a nondescript office building on North Broad Street. What? Where? Not even a row of squad cars out front?

And that other former focus of civic attention — the Frank Rizzo statue in front of the Municipal Services Building. Gone, too. Where will the next generation of community activists, shouters, rally-rounders and lookie-loos clump together, while less socially aware denizens loot Chestnut and Walnut Street shops? Not under Big Frank’s outstretched arm, “with doves flying out of his armpit.”

Then one 11 o’clock nightly newscast, I thought I saw an apparition emanating from the subway grates. A (large) hologram-like ghostly vision arose — Hizzoner is back. Rising from the swirling rubbish like a Phoenix from the ashes: Stravinsky’s “Firebird.” A living statue returning from the dead, like The Commendatore in Mozart’s opera Don Giovanni. Only the music wafting up from South Broad Street is the Mummers Strut: “Happy days are here again; Frank Rizzo’s running for mayor again … ”

Our incoming mayor and ongoing district attorney better do better. Or else they’ll hear the haunting echoes of Hizzoner’s oversize footsteps stomping up from behind and overtaking them. Voters may decide that Law & Order should just be — Order.

No dog dirt in culverts

Please publish this notice that instructs people to not throw their dog’s excrement into the public water system drain, the culvert. It is not for trash or waste. Putting it first in a plastic bag only worsens the problem. The city tells everyone that it is only for water runoff. This is just as bad as leaving it on someone’s lawn.

Can someone explain?

Can someone explain when people commit a crime (the criminals who violated the law and charged and occupied an interstate highway, I-95), why are they rewarded with thousands of dollars for committing that crime and not punished for it?

While publicizing the financial reward to the offenders who violate the law during the riots, the announcement came from the Paul Robeson House and Museum. Didn’t Paul Robeson sing the same song that Kate Smith sang back in 1931? Can someone explain why we have a museum for Paul Robeson and Kate Smith’s statue was removed because of that song?

Since the debt ceiling situation was averted, the Biden administration has agreed to cut back (not eliminate) on hiring 20,000 new IRS employees to oversee our tax returns. With all the Biden administration immigration problems that he created on our southern border, can someone explain why the Biden administration budget calls for only 350 additional border patrol agents?

Due to the diligence of the federal investigators and the U.S. Justice Department, six rioters were arrested, prosecuted and sentenced for destroying police vehicles during the riots. With all the millions of dollars of property that was damaged/destroyed during those riots, and with all the cell phone videos and TV cameras, can someone explain why District Attorney Krasner made only two arrests, both police officers?
