The scholarship winners were Angelica Oyola, who will attend Little Flower High School; Mark Little, who will attend Father Judge; and Donald Bookman, who will attend Roman Catholic.

Members of the Craige family attended the ceremony, which took place on June 11 at the church, at 5450 Roosevelt Blvd. in Oxford Circle.

Danny Craige was a St. Martin’s graduate who died of esophageal cancer in 2006 at age 56. He was a longtime coach, including stints directing football teams at Frankford Boys Club and basketball teams at St. Martin’s.

Craige’s family and the St. Bede the Venerable CYO created the foundation in his memory.

The foundation contributed $19,000 this year for the 2014 St. Martin’s graduates, along with other grads still in high school.

In all, the foundation donated $39,500, including awards to graduates of St. Katharine Drexel and La Salle Academy.

The foundation will hold a golf fundraiser on Sept. 15 at North Hills Country Club.

Donations can be sent to The Danny Craige Foundation, 66 Green Drive, Churchville, PA 18966. ••
