Factory Donuts Coffee’N Chicken, 7114 Frankford Ave. in Mayfair, held its grand opening on Saturday.

Owners Anish Desai and Krupa Pandya welcomed the community with one free classic doughnut per customer and half-off chicken wings throughout the day.

A DJ played songs such as The Chicken Dance and Celebration as a ribbon was cut. City Councilman Mike Driscoll and Mayfair Business Improvement District executive director Donny Smith were among those on hand.

The menu includes classic and specialty doughnuts; chicken sandwiches, tenders and bowls; wings; fries; hot breakfast food; coffee; tea; fresh-squeezed orange juice; and cold drinks.

Desai said popular doughnuts include chocolate, glazed, maple bacon, french toast and strawberry creme.

Factory Donuts opened in 2017, with a focus on doughnuts, but since then, there have been ownership changes and a long shutdown caused by the coronavirus.

Desai changed the concept — giving coffee and chicken a prominent role — because people generally do not buy doughnuts later in the day.

“Let’s expand the menu,” he said.

The 1,200-square-foot store is open Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., with dine-in, take out and online ordering available as well as the mobile app. Catering is an option, too.

Desai said eggs are not broken until an order is placed.

“We cook everything fresh,” he said.
