At their last meeting, held at the Berkshire Hathaway real estate office, members heard from Harold Epps, the city’s new director of the Department of Commerce. Epps congratulated merchants for being approved for the first new Business Improvement District since 2008. Mike “Scoats” Scotese, owner of the Grey Lodge Pub and president of the business association, was recently named chairman of the BID.

In other news, Stan’s Health Foods, located at 3524 Cottman Ave., recently held a grand reopening. Stan’s opened in 1984 at Frankford Avenue and Wellington Street, but owner Sharon Doyle moved last month. The new location is between Tailhook Tavern and Infinity Jewelers. The hours are weekdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call 215–332–4577 or visit stanshealthfoods.com or the Stan’s Health Foods page on Facebook. ••
