Just like Kamala

Please let Commissioner Outlaw go to NYC. She has all the qualifications:

1. Female

2. Black

3. She doesn’t know a hill of beans about the job

That sounds like someone in Washington, D.C. From the looks of it, she is more than qualified. These are the same reasons Kenney hired her.

Fighting for good causes

I am Keith Cho, a member of the 177th district, and one of Joe Hohenstien’s constituents. I will be turning 18 years old soon, and I have been doing research to see which candidates deserve my vote, and I believe Joe Hohenstien is a solid candidate for anyone’s vote. I strongly support the causes he is fighting for, such as equal rights for all genders, disabled people and workers, and I also back him in fighting against issues such as systemic racism, mass incarceration, gun violence and the opioid crisis. I browsed through his website and saw that there is not a single bill/law he is trying to pass that I disagree with. As I was looking through the list, though, I saw that he had over 500 bills in committee, and only less than 10 were signed. I think he has been spreading his resources too thin and should focus on a smaller number of issues at a time, in order to actually make sure that he can actually make a change, or else he will just be piling up hundreds of bills that will just sit in the committee and might not go through. However, this is a good sign that he is passionate and fighting hard for his beliefs. For example, he is following through on his promise to fight the opioid crisis by supporting bills such as HB253, which establishes a task force on the opioid abuse epidemic, and HB340, which establishes the Opioid Reparation and Accountability Fund and the Opiate Epidemic Response Advisory Council. Because he is a man of his word, he is deserving of my vote, and many others’.

What is equity?

Over the years, there are certain words that have very wide meanings to different people. Fair is one. What is fair to one person may not seem fair to another. Another term used by someone trying to sell you something is investment. You are about to find out that the price you thought was reasonable is now greatly larger. The latest term that has not been defined is equity.

A holiday wish

What more can we say about life in Philadelphia? A 21-year-old Temple student murdered, a 14-year-old gunned down, a cop shot 8 times. Now more than 1,000 people shot in 2021 and over 500 deaths.

Go to Target or Best Buy and see police officers positioned at the front door to stop smash and grabs. Get the holiday spirit?

This isn’t due to the pandemic (as the mayor says), it’s due to poor governing. Handcuff police, throw away bail, release criminals — and what do you expect?

What I didn’t expect was DA Larry Krasner re-elected with 72% of the vote. Well, he had a “D” in front of his name. Do people in this city care about anything?

We walk around submissively behind endless mask mandates, scolded for drinking soda, or even using plastic bags. Our media are just a City Hall rubber stamp.

We can “hope” for change. We can hope people see past political “wokeness,” and for young people to become reform candidates — hope that Republicans can take a message into all communities and restore a vibrant two-party system.

But we’ve been saying “enough is enough” for far too long. Something’s missing.

I pray for the change — within ourselves. When people go to church this Christmas, I pray they ask pastors to join together with all faith leaders throughout the city, to begin a moral revival. Open the doors to all in 2022, and let us begin the discussion.

It’s obvious the change can no longer come from City Hall. It must come from the ground up, from a revived citizenry that cares deeply about the city and our fellow man.

Killadelphia

Five-hundred murders in the city of Philadelphia. Yes, 500 and counting. At one time, Philadelphia was known for its historical sites and the art museum steps. Even recently, Santa climbed them. Articles in the paper indicate poverty, but where is the money coming from to buy the guns? Are these shootings drug related or is it a matter of no one caring. Finding the cause is not always the answer, it is expensive and time consuming. If the desire to kill comes from anger or injustices that have come about, we need to let these individuals know someone cares. As a city, we need to end such violence, and to be the City of Brotherly Love, once again.

Soft on crime kills

Attn: Philadelphia DA Larry Krasner and those like-minded. Take a long, hard look at the tragedy in Waukesha, Wisconsin. That could very happen here as the result of a thug you helped release back on the streets. Why don’t you and those such as Rashida Tlaib, AOC, Ayanna Pressley, Chicago DA Kim Foxx and all others who think likewise go to Waukesha and tell the families and friends of those severely injured and killed that you still believe in inappropriately low bail amounts or ending cash bail altogether, emptying prisons and ridiculously light sentences that allow dangerous people back on the streets in no time at all.

People are now rightly calling for Waukesha DA John Chisholm to resign and even be disbarred for gross dereliction of duty, which resulted in six deaths so far and severely injured people including children.

Unfortunately, and I sincerely hope I’m wrong, but it may take a tragedy like Waukesha to finally jolt people up to the fact that extreme soft-on-crime policies like those of Chisholm, Foxx, Krasner, etc. do not and have never worked.

The IRS is coming

Recently, I wrote that the new regime wants to hire 87,000 new IRS agents under false pretenses. They were trying to make us believe it was to audit the wealthy. Now they are proposing they must be notified of every bank transaction over $600. Sounds like the real reason for 87,000 new agents.

Thanks to social media, cable, cell phones, etc., they know everything else about us. If this banking requirement gets approved, it will be the end of privacy. We put the brakes on now or there will be no turning back.

If you agree that this is an abuse, then it is up to all of us to let our elected officials know how we feel.
