Amber Lewis is 6 years old and one of the longest residents at Philadelphia’s Animal Care and Control. Amber’s previous family said she is sensitive, calm, eager to please, affectionate and loves to be with people. Amber knows “come,” “sit” and “beso.” (“kiss” in Spanish). She has lived with children but should be someone’s one and only pet.

Amber Lewis is waiting for you. To hear more, email Amber’s human friend Sheri at Harlow314@aol.com. ••

Cole has been diagnosed with IBD, which causes him to vomit excessively. He seems to be triggered by periods of stress, but he is well managed on one tablet daily. Before Cole came back to Northeast Animal Rescue, he is reported to have gotten along well with dogs ranging up to 50 pounds. He had lived as an only cat for some time, and NAR is working with him to reintegrate him into a home with cats, but it is a very slow process. The NAR vet has added an anti-anxiety medication to help ease the transition. Cole takes his medication without issue. While NAR is making every effort to make Cole comfortable in foster care, the ideal home for him would be a home without other cats, where his human could engage him in mentally challenging games and exercise, with or without a cat-friendly dog for a playmate. Cole still loves people and loves all the attention he can get.

Cole, 6, is neutered and up to date on vaccines, and tested negative for the feline leukemia and immunodeficiency viruses.
