Bank robber's on the loose
Police and the FBI are looking for information about the man or men who robbed a pair of Mayfair banks early this week.
The first heist occurred Sunday at the Citizens Bank at 7327 Frankford Ave. A man entered the bank at 11:28 a.m., presented a demand note to a teller and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
He was described as white, in his late 30s or early 40s, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and with a medium build. He had a goatee beard and has acne scarring on his face. He wore a white hooded sweatshirt with black lining on the hood, as well as a black baseball cap.
On Monday, a man fitting the same description entered the TD Bank at 6635 Frankford Ave. at 2:52 p.m., presented a demand note to a teller and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
He was described as white, 40 to 45 years old, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and about 180 pounds. He was clean-shaven with a “reddish, ruddy complexion,” police said. He wore a black zip-up hooded sweatshirt, a white baseball cap and black-rim glasses.
Investigators believe that the same person may have committed both crimes.
The suspect is considered armed and dangerous. To report information about him, call the FBI at 215-418-4000. Tipsters may remain anonymous. ••
