Four eighth-grade students took Reed and his two young daughters on a tour of the school before the Mass.

Cynthia Koons, the president of St. Albert the Great School, recounted Reed’s accomplishments, including the Principal’s Behavior and Effort Awards at his eighth-grade graduation in 1988.

Reed spoke about the importance of a good elementary school education and said that St. Albert the Great provided him with an excellent foundation for St. Joseph’s Prep, where he attended high school with a scholarship and graduated in 1992.

A reception followed in the dining hall, where Monsignor Paul F. Curran, the former pastor at St. Albert, joined Reed’s acquaintances and peers in congratulating him. ••
