No one was injured when a Torresdale house partially collapsed Thursday afternoon due to an explosion and fire, authorities said.

Firefighters responded to the 4400 block of Pearson Avenue just before 1 p.m., police and fire officials said. An explosion caused the twin home’s roof and east wall to collapse, according to police.

The Fire Department said the blaze was under control by 1:38 p.m. Police said the property was under renovation.

Some have speculated the explosion was gas-related. Gas service on the block was shut off, police said. However, the Fire Department did not confirm the source of the explosion.

Representatives from the Fire Marshal’s Office will investigate once the building is safe to enter, fire officials said. ••
