On Dec. 18, the Wyndham Garden Hotel in Essington will be the scene of a boxing match involving Philadelphia Daily News “Sexy Single” and transgender personality Kayla Vas vs. Patricia “Tan Mom” Krentcil with some proceeds from the event supporting the National Brain Tumor Society.

A portion of all tickets that Pownall sells on behalf of the promotion will be donated to NBTS, as will proceeds from Pownall’s gift basket raffle at the fight. In addition to the main event, several bouts are scheduled for the undercard.

Pownall’s Air Guitar Challenge, which she modeled after the Ice Bucket Challenge, is getting some exposure too. The challenge was featured in a segment on The Fanatic 97.5-FM and in a Nov. 10 article in the Daily News. Employees from the Inquirer and SEPTA have taken the challenge.
