Suspect ID’d, arrested in Mayfair bank robbery

Update: On Feb. 26, police announced the arrest of Dorren Mills in North Philadelphia. He has been charged with three bank robberies including TD Bank at 6635 Frankford Ave. on Feb. 10. He remains a suspect in additional robberies.

Members of Ironworkers Local 401 arrested Tuesday

Federal authorities on Tuesday arrested 10 members of Ironworkers Local 401 on charges they allegedly participated in a conspiracy to commit criminal acts of extortion, arson, destruction of property and assault, in order to force construction contractors to hire union ironworkers. 


Two mugged on busy Holmesburg street

A gang of four thugs, including one with a gun, held up two young men on a well-traveled Holmesburg streetcorner last month. Police are still trying to identify the robbers.


Three men shot and killed in Lawncrest home

The recent death toll in Lawncrest grew last Thursday. In fact, the tally doubled as intruders executed three men inside a twin home on Martins Mill Road, according to police.

CVS robbery attempt foiled

A would-be robber dressed the part of Brian Westbrook, but he performed more like Happy Feller as he failed to grab a woman’s cash at a Castor Gardens pharmacy on Feb. 1.


Former sergeant to stand trial for fatal crash

A former Philadelphia police sergeant has been ordered to stand trial on homicide and manslaughter charges in connection with an alleged drunken-driving crash that claimed the life of a Fishtown father of four last September.
