Last October, Tacony Baptist celebrated Johnson during an event at Georgine’s restaurant, honoring him for 39 years of service and dedication to the church as well as the Tacony community.

Councilman Mike Driscoll presented Johnson with a citation for his service to God, humanity and the community for almost four decades.

Johnson is being remembered as someone who regularly gave people rides to the hospital or doctor’s office and for his contributions to the Tacony Civic Association, Business Association, Town Watch, Historical Society and Ministerium.

In memory of Johnson, contributions to Tacony Baptist Church, 4715 Disston St, Philadelphia, PA 19135, would be appreciated, for the restoration of the church. ••
