The William Penn Foundation recently presented a free Philadelphia Orchestra Neighborhood Concert at Northeast High School’s Charles Martin Memorial Stadium.

“All of us were elated to discover this new venue in a neighborhood so focused on community. We are eager to return to such a vibrant example of many different cultures,” said Allison Vulgamore, president and CEO of the Philadelphia Orchestra.

“With Night Market on Rising Sun Avenue in May and now the world-renowned Philadelphia Orchestra at Northeast High, we are thrilled to help connect the great civic institutions of this city with the amazing people and neighborhoods of Northeast Philadelphia. It was a truly magical night sitting under the moon and stars hearing such beautiful music resound throughout the football stadium, one that will long remain in memory of the people who were there,” said state Rep. Jared Solomon, who helped promote the concert. ••
