New York man jailed in Mayfair stabbings

Police have arrested a 39-year-old New York man in connection with Sunday afternoon’s triple stabbing in Mayfair.

The suspect has been identified as Hengjian Ni.

The incident took place on the 3200 block of Knorr St. Ni is charged with three counts each of simple assault, aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person and attempt to commit murder, along with attempt to commit rape, possessing instruments of crime and Burglary.

Police said Ni fled before 15th district officers arrived on the scene. The victims were a 37-year-old woman and two boys, ages 15 and 10. A Fire Department medic unit transported the victims to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital.

The suspect went to the 15th Police District at Harbison Avenue and Levick Street to turn himself in. Ni was transported to Jefferson Torresdale and was positively identified by the victims, according to police. ••
