Funeral plans set for Jim Young, president of Historical Society of Frankford

Funeral services are set for James R. “Jim” Young, president of the Historical Society of Frankford.

Young’s family welcomes friends to Christ Episcopal Church, 500 Fourth St., Riverton, New Jersey, on Saturday, Dec. 28, after 9:30 a.m. A life celebration will begin at 11 a.m.

Young died on Dec. 13. He was 78 and lived in Cinnaminson, New Jersey.

Young was married with four children and eight grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister.

A 1959 graduate of North Catholic High School, he attended St. Joseph’s University. He was an engineer for many years at the Frankford Arsenal and then the Picatinny Arsenal, until he retired.

Young was a member of the steering committee of the Northeast Philadelphia Hall of Fame, until his death.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Young’s memory may be made to Christ Episcopal Church, where he was an usher, or to the Historical Society of Frankford, 1507 Orthodox St., Philadelphia, PA 19124. ••
