Fire at Deer Meadows Retirement, no injuries

A small fire last week left no injuries.

The Philadelphia Fire Department responded to a report of an alarm at Deer Meadows Retirement Community, 8301 Roosevelt Blvd., on Sept. 3.

Companies arrived on the scene at approximately 10:30 p.m. and determined smoke was coming from the motor of an air handler on the roof.

The building’s HVAC system was shut down, and the incident was placed under control at 11:13 p.m.

No injuries were reported. ••
