Cancer Treatment Centers of America earns award

Cancer Treatment Centers of America, 1331 E. Wyoming Ave., has received the Commission on Cancer Outstanding Achievement Award from the American College of Surgeons.

The award recognizes the effort and commitment by the CTCA cancer team to provide high-quality care to patients and meet and exceed the standards set by the commission’s accreditation program.

“We are proud that our commitment to our patients’ clinical needs has been recognized by the Commission on Cancer,” said John McNeil, president and CEO of CTCA in Philadelphia. “This level of commendation requires support and dedication from all areas of the hospital, making it a very special award for our employees who have made it possible.”

CTCA was evaluated on 34 program standards categorized within one of four cancer program activity areas: cancer committee leadership, cancer data management, clinical services and quality improvement.

The hospital was further evaluated on seven commendation standards. To be eligible, all award recipients must have received commendation ratings in all seven commendation standards, in addition to receiving a compliance rating for each of the 27 other standards. ••
