Luke is an athletic Staffordshire terrier mix who is in the care of Philadelphia’s Animal Care and Control, at 111 W. Hunting Park Ave. His tag number is A28200768.

The dog weighs 63 pounds, is house trained and has done well outside of a crate. He knows basic commands and loves rope toys and tennis balls. He has done well with other dogs after slow introductions. He would do best in a home without cats or small children.

Carissa deserves a forever home

Carissa is a very outgoing and friendly gal who loves every person she meets. She was rescued from a life on the streets while pregnant and starving in the cold weather. Unfortunately, her kittens did not survive. She is in the care of Northeast Animal Rescue, waiting for her permanent home.

Carissa will have to be the only pet in a home. She will need a family dedicated to help her shed some extra pounds through careful food portions and exercise.

Carissa, 2½, is spayed and current on vaccinations, and has tested negative for the feline immunodeficiency and leukemia viruses. For information or to fill out an application, visit nar.rescuegroups.org ••
