Tacony LAB to host WinterFest event
Tacony LAB invites the community to celebrate WinterFest on Saturday, Dec. 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Holy Innocents St. Paul Church, 7001 Torresdale Ave. There will be food, music, crafts, historic trolley tours and family fun. Santa will pay a visit, too.
Presenters include Tacony Civic Association, Tacony CDC, Tacony Historical Society, state Rep. Mike Driscoll, Councilman Bobby Henon, Tacony Town Watch and Friends of Tacony Library.

The Tacony Community Development Corporation and Tacony Historical Society are co-sponsoring guided trolley tours of Old Tacony during the Tacony Winterfest. The tours will be at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. They are open to anyone 10 or older.

Senior Nutrition Fair at KleinLife
KleinLife, 10100 Jamison Ave., will host a complimentary Senior Nutrition Fair on Thursday, Dec. 1, from 10 a.m. to noon. The public is invited.
In addition to nutritional information, the event will offer blood pressure and diabetes screenings and information about medicines and wellness programs.
Participants are asked to bring a canned food or packaged food item to be used in assembling bags for homebound senior citizens.

Polish society holding Christmas gala
The Polish Society of Philadelphia will hold a Christmas gala on Saturday, Dec. 3. at Whitemarsh Valley Country Club in Lafayette Hill.
There will be cocktails at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7. The evening will include caroling, a silent auction and dancing to the Denny Ostopowicz Orchestra.

King’s Highway showing at Kimmel Center
The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, 300 S. Broad St., will host a showing of The King’s Highway on Tuesday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m.
The film chronicles the history of a portion of Frankford Avenue. Tickets cost $10.
Doors open at 6 p.m., and the cast and crew will be available to talk with guests.

Local church to host Christmas bazaar
All Saints Episcopal Church, 9601 Frankford Ave., will host its annual Christmas bazaar and craft show on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 2–3. Hours are Dec. 2 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Dec. 3 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Roast beef dinner will be served Dec. 2 from 5 to 7 p.m. The meal is $10, or $5 for kids 9 or under.

Christmas bazaar and tea at Ryerss
The Friends of Ryerss Museum & Library will hold a Victorian Christmas Bazaar & Tea on Saturday, Dec. 3, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Tree lighting event in Holmesburg
Holmesburg Recreation Center, Rhawn and Ditman streets, will hold a Christmas tree lighting on Thursday, Dec. 8, at 6 p.m. Santa Claus will be available for pictures. The evening will also include face-painting, a balloon magician and snacks. ••
Tour historic homes this holiday season
The Historic Houses of Fairmount Park will present seasonal decorations and musical performances in December. Six city-owned homes will be open to the public on Dec. 3 and 4, as well as Dec. 10 and 11, including Cedar Grove, Laurel Hill, Lemon Hill, Mount Pleasant, Strawberry Mansion and Woodford.
On Dec. 3, guests are invited to enjoy Sounds of the Season with the Mummers All-Stars, Artistas y Musicos Latino Americanos, Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz, Quiet Storm Authentic Doo Wop, Opera Philadelphia and Pearl Chamber Orchestra.
Dec. 4 will be Family Day and feature a Santa Claus visit, Please Touch Museum, Mornin’ Music, Smith Playground, Spiral Q Puppet Theatre, Blacksmith, Franklin Institute, Revolution Shakespeare and Walnut Street Theatre.

Neilson collecting for Toys for Tots
State Rep. Ed Neilson’s office is a drop-off location for this year’s U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots campaign.
