Running truck stolen outside Mayfair Wawa

Police often remind motorists that they shouldn’t leave their vehicles unattended and running, even during a quick stop at a local convenience store. Last Thursday, surveillance cameras outside a Mayfair Wawa recorded what can happen in that situation.

One store patron hopped into the driver’s seat another patron’s running Ford pickup truck and took off. Now investigators are trying to find the missing vehicle.

It happened shortly after 1 p.m. at 7101 Roosevelt Blvd. Cameras recorded the suspected thief and another man arriving at the store in a silver Nissan Altima. They parked their car and entered the store.

As the suspects exited the store, one of them spotted the pickup truck and took it. The truck is black with a Pennsylvania tag ZDP-7909.

The other suspect returned to the Nissan and followed the stolen truck as it exited the parking lot onto the Boulevard.
