Burglar tries to break into laundromat twice, fails both times

A laundromat burglar learned last Friday that if at first you don’t succeed, and if at second you still don’t succeed, it’s probably best to run.

Authorities are trying to identify the guy who broke into the Pristine Laundromat at 8799 Frankford Ave. at about 6:30 that morning and twice failed to swipe the cash register drawer before fleeing with an accomplice.

The primary suspect accessed the business by smashing the glass front door. After failing to secure the cash drawer, he returned to the getaway car, a 1980s or ’90s model black Cadillac Deville. Moments later, he emerged from the car and again entered the business, only to leave empty-handed a second time.

The burglar was described as white, 30 years old, stocky with brown hair, a gray hoodie and black pants. There is no description of the getaway driver. Visit the Philadelphia Police channel on YouTube to see surveillance video. Call 215–686-TIPS or text to PPD TIP to report information. ••
