America is crumbling

My heart is breaking as I look around and see what’s happening to America.

Please note that I am not including every single person in America, but too many have forgotten how to be patriotic, and what it means to have pride, self-respect and dignity. We have thrown out morals for far-out liberatism, self-centerness and permissiveness. Everything is acceptable no matter how wrong it is.

We are not teaching our children anger control, accountability or responsibility. They believe that it is never their fault, but always someone else’s for anything they do.

Our government is in shambles, they can’t even work together for the good of America. They pass laws for the American people, yet exempt themselves from the same laws. They are supposed to be working for and listening to the American people, not for themselves. They spend the hardworking American taxpayer’s money like water.

Americans are struggling to survive and we have the homeless, jobless, hungry and sick, yet our government gives illegals and refugees a cost-free life at the expense of the American people. Now where is the common sense?

Once they are here, they have the gall to demand that America should change for them. Yet no matter how you look at it, they are illegal immigrants. That money should be spent on the American people first — after all it’s the American taxpayers’ money. Just look at how our veterans are being treated, which is a disgrace. Our government is too, too big. We need term limits for all of them.

Our welfare program is also out of control. Not everyone on welfare should be on it. The dishonest people have learned how to abuse the system. There is generation after generation on welfare that should not be on it. Welfare is a good program but only for the people that truly need it.

People are told to take down our American flag because it offends some. So what are they doing here? The flag is America’s national flag and should be flown, always. If some don’t like it, then they should just ignore it. But our beautiful American flag should be flown 24/7.

Jobs for Americans keep moving out of America — it seems greed is the name of the game. We need to bring the jobs back to America. We should put an import tax on all products coming back into the U.S.

Some Americans have to wake up and educate themselves as to what’s really going on in our country before it’s too late.

Trump is a loudmouth

Mr. Al Ulus writes that he feels a successful businessman is the right choice for president of the United States. That is so wrong, Mr. Ulus. The object of a businessman is to make money. He has no other objective! If that means moving his business to another country to increase profits, that’s what he’ll do. If it means cutting out nonprofit parts of his business (Social Security, Medicare, child development, urban renewal, etc.), that’s what he’ll do! If it means restrictive immigration laws will help his business, that’s what he’ll support. In other words, if it doesn’t create profit, it’s gone.

Donald Trump fits perfectly into this category. Inherited money, shady business practices, exploitation of the tax laws place him squarely in the middle of a group of men I don’t want leading this country. Let businessmen run their businesses and let mankind leaders lead the country. Donald Trump doesn’t fit into the category of leader, he’s just a follower of other profit-minded businessmen. He has nothing to offer the people of this country other than a loud mouth.

Fund cancer research

I want to thank the Northeast Times for printing the last letter I sent. We at the New Image Hair Salon advertised our Cut for the Cure haircutting/flea market/free band donation get-together. When we lost our lease, we lost the ability to hold our Saturday cut, along with the band and other items, so we went to the local businesses in the area and asked for donations in the fight against cancer.

Our most loyal supporter has been Giant Food Market on Grant Avenue. The manager is Dan Gana. Mr. Gana has been willing to help since 2013.

The letter you printed has encouraged others to help, including: Wal-Mart, 9745 Roosevelt Blvd.; Dr. Tom Fuji, DDS, 7601 Castor Ave.; Robert Feldman, Philadelphia; Dr. David Spilkia, DMD, 7052–56 Frankford Ave.; Giant Food Store, 2550 Grant Ave.

Anyone who would like to make a donation, call 215–677–0363.
