Stephan Williams, 49, of the 4500 block of Richmond St., allegedly helped break into the James D. Morrissey Inc. yard at 4720 Pennypack St. on Dec. 16 or 17, as well as the Phax-Air property at 2300 Church St. on Dec. 16 and 22. In each incident, Williams and accomplices made off with numerous tanks in varying sizes. All told, 41 tanks were stolen. The men reportedly sought to sell the tanks as scrap metal. Police reportedly found some of the tanks and vehicles involved in the crimes on the 2600 block of Wheatsheaf Lane.

Police had released video recordings of the crimes via YouTube on Dec. 23, but did not disclose the circumstances of Williams’ Dec. 29 arrest. He was charged with burglary, trespassing, conspiracy, mischief and related crimes. ••
