Teresa Mauro, a sophomore biology/Spanish major at Albright College, is spending several weeks in Ecuador learning about the cultural and media landscape through classroom instruction, life with an Ecuadorian family and trips to diverse parts of the country. Albright has a three-week winter interim between the fall and spring semesters, affording students the opportunity to take classes or engage in research on campus, or venture for both independent and faculty-led study opportunities.

Aisha Malik was one of 37 students from University of the Sciences’ physician assistant studies program to join the ranks of professionals following the second annual White Coat Ceremony. The ceremony for the class of 2017 commemorated the formal presentation of a white coat for physician assistant students as they begin working clinically with patients in hospitals and outpatient settings. At the ceremony, the students recited the oath of a physician assistant, a gesture to reinforce their commitment to working with patients compassionately and to enhancing their health and well-being. Malik continues on the path to a master of science in physician assistant studies.

Kiara Greene and Coralie Compere were named to the fall 2015 dean’s list at Clarion University. To earn placement on the dean’s list, students must be enrolled full time and earn a semester GPA of 3.5.

Erin Soulsby was named to the dean’s list at Misericordia University for the winter 2015 semester. Students qualify for the dean’s list with a 3.55 grade point average or higher.

Colby-Sawyer College, in New Hampshire, has named Kevin Richardson to the dean’s list for academic achievement. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must achieve a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale while carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours in graded courses. Richardson is majoring in business administration and is a member of the class of 2018.

A total of 460 Mansfield University students have been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2015 semester. The following area students earned the honor: Brittany Blair, Duc Luong and Willie Scott. To be named to the dean’s list, a student must attend the university full-time and earn at least a 3.5 GPA.

Jenna Mattox has graduated with a Master of Education from Graceland University in Iowa. More than 300 students graduated at the fall commencement on Dec. 19.

Kaitlin Dyson, Melanie Grajales and David Tapia were named to the dean’s list at Lehigh University in the fall 2015 semester. The status is granted to students who earned a scholastic average of 3.6 or better while carrying at least 12 hours of regularly graded courses.

More than 1,400 students were named to the dean’s list for the fall 2015 semester at York College. To be eligible for this honor, a student must be registered for at least 12 academic credit hours and earn a semester GPA of 3.50 or higher. The group included Ketsy Caraballo-Garcia, a senior Early Elementary/Special Education major; Shannon O’Fee, a sophomore Criminal Justice major; Breanne Olsen, a sophomore Early Elementary/Special Education major; Jasophomoren Porter, a first-year Computer Science major; and Joseph Wagner, a senior Music major. ••
