Chamber launching speaker series

Four speakers will headline the launch of the Greater Northeast Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce Speaker Series on Wednesday, Jan. 27, at 7:30 a.m. at Philadelphia Protestant Home, 6500 Tabor Road (entrance on Martins Mill Road).

The event is open to the public. Admission is $10 for GNPCC members and $15 for non-members, payable at the door. Elaine Elbich, PennDOT portfolio manager, will discuss the ongoing multi-million-dollar project to revitalize I-95.

Thomas J. Branigan, executive director of the Delaware River City Corp., will describe the progress of the North Delaware Greenway, a multi-use trail currently under construction.

Philadelphia Industrial Development Corp. Executive Vice President Sam Rhoades and Duane Bumb, a senior deputy director with the city Department of Commerce, round out the panel.

Philadelphia Protestant Home is the breakfast sponsor. There will be ample time for questions and interaction with the panelists.

“One of the dramatic changes we made during our recent rebranding was in programming,” said GNPCC President Pam Henshall. “Instead of inviting members to breakfast for networking and a long program by a sponsor, we thought it would be much more effective to deal with current issues.”
