Brianna McMahon, a fourth-year medical student at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, received the Anthony Girard Leone Memorial Scholarship. Dr. Leone graduated from the former Philadelphia College of Osteopathy in 1957. McMahon earned a degree in exercise science with a concentration in physiology and minors in biology and disability studies from the University of Delaware in 2011. She is the wife of Michael Hitchner and daughter of Thomas and Barbara McMahon.

Olga Vitorsky, a third-year medical student at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, received the Joseph M. Marino Award in Physical Examination and Diagnosis. The scholarship is awarded to a third-year student who has proven exemplary. Vitorsky earned associate’s degrees in biology and psychology from Manor College in 2010 and a bachelor’s degree in biology from Drexel in 2012. She is the wife of Alexander Vitorsky, mother of Ava Vitorsky and daughter of Ivan and Halina.

More than 1,650 students have been named to the fall 2015 dean’s list at Kutztown University. To be eligible for dean’s list, an undergraduate student must be registered for at least 12 credits and have a minimum grade point average of 3.60. The following local students have been named to the list: Victoria Lynn Applegate, Nicholas Anthony Caranci, Nicole Lynn Danks, Colleen C. Donnelly, Olya Dumyak, Allison Fanning, Katelyn Galiczynski, Katelyn Elizabeth Howarth, Ashleigh Hughes, Tamara A. Jennings, Connor Joseph Kenny, Ashley Kilroy, Corinne Angeline Manela, Bryan Daniel McConnell, Erin Marie Orth, Morgan Rutkowski, Drakeira Antionette Siler, Alyssa K. St. Clair, Joseph Francis Thiel and Jacquelyn Marie Valori.

John Alexander McLaughlin was among nearly 1,400 graduates who received degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in ceremonies Dec. 18 and 19. McLaughlin earned a master of business administration degree.

Alvernia undergraduate students earned Associate of Science, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Social Work degrees this fall. The local graduates were Jeffrey Deacon (criminal justice summa cum laude); Milton Worthey (criminal justice); Krista Black (behavioral Health magna cum laude); Tejal Dave (behavioral health); Dawn Hosack (behavioral health cum laude, minor in psychology); Schella Paulection (behavioral health); and Jenny Rafeh (criminal justice, minor in behavioral health).

Joseph Wagner graduated magna cum laude from York College on Dec. 22. Wagner earned a Bachelor of Science degree in music.

Lebanon Valley College has announced its dean’s list recipients for the fall 2015 semester. Dean’s list students must maintain a GPA of at least 3.4 out of 4.0. Local students who made the dean’s list were Ryan Muldoon, a graduate of Father Judge High School who is pursuing a bachelor of science in accounting, and Jessica Coughlin, a graduate of Philadelphia Academy Charter School who is pursuing a bachelor of arts in English and sociology. ••
