Car windows smashed in Castor Gardens

At least 10 residents of the Northeast’s Castor Gardens section awoke last Sunday morning to find the same appalling sight outside of their homes. Someone had smashed the windows of their cars.

One broadcast news outlet reported that at least 17 cars had been damaged, citing residents’ claims, but police subsequently released an official list of 10 damaged vehicles, including compacts, sedans, minivans and SUVs. The locations included the 1100 block of Tyson Ave., the 1100 block of Englewood St., the 1100 block of Saint Vincent St. and the 1100 block of Princeton Ave.

Police said that the vandalism had occurred during the previous night. In each case, the vehicle’s passenger side front window had been shattered. Police did not report that any property had been taken from the vehicles. Call 215–686-TIPS or text to PPD TIP to report information. ••
