Bingo Night at Farrell School

Louis H. Farrell School is sponsoring a bingo night at the Cottage Green, 9001 Ashton Road, on April 14. Doors open at 6 p.m. Bingo begins at 6:30.

Benefit show to be held April 7

The Elysian Dance Company will hold their Scholarship Performance to benefit the Elizabeth Ann Pulaski Memorial Scholarship Fund on Thursday, April 7 at 7 p.m. at St. Hubert High School Auditorium, 7320 Torresdale Ave.

Widow to hold healing session

Donna Glatz, widow of slain Lawncrest jeweler William Glatz, will hold Heal Your Heart From Loss at the Free Library of Northampton Township, 25 Upper Holland Road in Richboro, on Wednesday, April 6, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

William Glatz was shot to death in 2010 during a robbery attempt inside his jewelry store at 6435 Rising Sun Ave.The Glatz family had owned the store for more than 60 years.

St. Martha celebrating 50th

St. Martha Parish will be celebrating its 50th jubilee with the following events:

April 10, communion breakfast and Hall of Fame induction; April 17, anointing of sick liturgy; June 5, closing liturgy, with Archbishop Charles Chaput as celebrant, followed by celebration at The Philadelphia Ballroom. ••

Historical society to host genealogy event

The Historical Society of Frankford, 1507 Orthodox St., will host a Genealogy Workshop on Saturday, April 9, from 1 to 3 p.m.

Spring Festival at Holy Family this weekend

Holy Family University’s 2016 Senior Class Legacy Committee will host its Spring Festival on Saturday, April 9, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Holy Family’s main campus, 9801 Frankford Ave.

The day’s activities will include a flea market, silent auction, live entertainment featuring Angus Road, food, face-painting and games. Flea vendor spaces are $15, or two spaces for $25. Call 215–333–3155. ••

St. Hubert E-cycling/community service day

St. Hubert High School will be sponsoring several “green” events on Saturday, April 9.

From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., an electronic recycling collection will take place, with most electronics accepted for free. Hard drives will be shredded for $10.

In addition, a clothing drive will be held. Gently used clothing, toys, bicycles and baby items will be accepted. Dropoff for both electronics and clothing is curbside on Ditman Street between Cottman Avenue and Bleigh Avenue. Students will be available to unload vehicles.

St. Hubert will also be participating in a cleanup around the school and Russo Park.

Gift basket raffle to be held Saturday

The Northeast Philadelphia Mothers of Twins & Triplets Club will sponsor a gift basket raffle on Saturday, April 9, at Johnson Memorial Methodist Church, 3117 Longshore Ave. Doors open at noon, and numbers will be called at 1 p.m.

Admission is $3 per person. Raffle tickets cost $5 for 26 tickets. Call 215–576–1360. ••

Informational forums announced at KleinLife

State Sen. John Sabatina Jr. (D-5th dist.) will conduct two informational forums at KleinLife, 10100 Jamison Ave. The sessions are set for Thursday, April 7, and Tuesday, April 12, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. They are free and open to the public by appointments only.

Information will be available about 2015 property tax and rent rebate, PACE, medical assistance, SNAP, reduced senior registration, handicapped placards, PennDOT issues, birth and death certificates, unclaimed property applications, low-income senior real estate tax freeze, free notary services, assistance with power of attorney and veterans’ services, among others.

Learn about storm drain marking at session

On April 9, the Tookany/Tacony-Frankford Watershed Partnership will hold a storm drain marking training session as part of the annual Philly Spring Cleanup. Painted Ladies of Somerton to host art show

The Painted Ladies of Somerton will hold an art show on Sunday, April 10, from noon to 3 p.m. at Somerton United Methodist Church, 13073 Bustleton Ave. (at Trevose Avenue). Admission is free. ••

Storytelling event at Holmesburg Library

Holmesburg Library, 7810 Frankford Ave., will host Story Telling on Tuesday, April 12, at 10:30 a.m.

Mr. Malcolm will present interactive storytelling and include characters from children’s favorites such as Blue’s Clues, Dora the Explorer and Lyle Crocodile.

Father Judge hosting Junior Night

The guidance departments of Father Judge and St. Hubert high schools will hold a Junior Night on Wednesday, April 13, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the auditorium of Father Judge.

A panel of college admissions officers will be on hand to provide information and answer questions. Anyone is welcome, but all 11th-grade students and their parents are encouraged to attend.

There will be guest speakers from La Salle University, Holy Family and Community College of Philadelphia discussing choosing a college, the application process, selection by admissions officers and two-year colleges as an option. ••

Broadway at Shaare Shamayim

Congregations of Shaare Shamayim, 9768 Verree Road, will host Lullaby of Broadway on Sunday, April 10, at 3:30 p.m.

The show will feature members of Broadway Sings.

Tickets cost $25 for students, $36 for reserved seats, $54 for premier seats and $118 for front-row seats and a reception with the cast.

Bowling benefit on Saturday

The Gia Nicole Angel Foundation, inspired and co-founded by Gia Nicole Gaudet, a 24-year-old woman with spina bifida, will hold its 14th annual bowling benefit at Thunderbird Lanes, 1130 York Road in Willow Grove, on Saturday, April 9, from 6 to 9 p.m.

The mission of the Gia Nicole Angel Foundation is to enhance the daily functioning of children with special needs from lower-income families (typically single-parent) by awarding assistance for essential therapies, life-changing equipment, essential family bills and tuition for specialized camps.

Tickets cost $25 in advance or $30 at the door. The cost for kids under 12 is $15 in advance and $20 at the door.

The event will include unlimited bowling, food, beverages, silent and Chinese auctions, face-painting, live music and a raffle for a trip to the Bahamas.

Coffee with a Cop event to be held in 15th district

The next Coffee with a Cop in the 15th Police District is scheduled for April 14 at 9 a.m. at Lorenzo’s Cafe, 4741 Princeton Ave.

Members of the community are invited to join officers to discuss any crime or public safety concerns and to meet some of the men and women who serve the district.

The 15th district spans from Rhawn Street to the Frankford-Tacony Creek and from Roosevelt Boulevard to the Delaware River. It includes the neighborhoods of Bridesburg, Frankford, Northwood, Wissinoming, Tacony, Mayfair, Holmesburg and Lexington Park. ••
