Students in the Pharmacology/Toxicology and Pharmaceutical Sciences programs at University of the Sciences took part in a special recognition ceremony. The group included Richard Howley, Raymond Nguyen and Bryan Okolo, all Pharmacology/Toxicology majors. The BS program in pharmacology/toxicology trains students to understand the interactions of drugs and other chemicals with living systems, while the BS program in pharmaceutical sciences trains students to develop novel methods to deliver drugs to the body and analyze the effectiveness of these drug delivery systems.

Parth Patel, a doctor of physical therapy student at University of the Sciences, received a white coat at the 11th Annual Physical Therapy White Coat Ceremony, which is a rite of passage for fourth-year students in USciences’ six-year PT program. Patel continues on the path to receiving a doctor of physical therapy degree in May 2018.

Students in Philadelphia College of Pharmacy at University of the Sciences received their white coats. The white coat ceremony is a rite of passage for students in their first professional year (third year) of USciences’ six-year pharmacy program. Among the students receiving white coats were: Simone Avratiner, Richie Chan, Andria Dang, Stephy Johnson, Zoya Kakar, Michael Nocito, Ina Pajo and Juliette Reinsel. These students continue on the path to receiving their doctor of pharmacy degree in May 2019.

Rose Pisacano is a member of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute women’s cross country team, which is ranked 20th in the nation. She studies environmental engineering.

The Class of 2019 at Alvernia University includes Kirstin Gonzaga, a graduate of Archbishop Ryan High School and an undecided major; Haley Harrington, a graduate of John W. Hallahan Catholic High School and an undecided major; Amanda Krier, a graduate of New Foundations Charter School and an undecided major; Kayla McNamee, a graduate of Nazareth Academy and a Healthcare Science major; and Joseph Pucker, a graduate of Father Judge High School and an Athletic Training major.
