Health event at Nazareth Hospital

Nazareth Hospital invites the public to meet Lindsay Lion, its new emergency department senior nurse navigator, on Thursday, June 4, from 5 to 6 p.m. in the cafeteria of the hospital, 2601 Holme Ave.

Lion will discuss how she guides patients aged 65 and older through the emergency healthcare process and helps them get the follow-up care they need.

Pilgrimage & Rally is on Sunday

The Philly Catholics Parishioners’ Pilgrimage & Rally will take place on Sunday, May 31.

The group will gather at 1 p.m. at St. Joachim Church, 1527 Church St. in Frankford. Individuals will say prayers at Mater Dolorosa and other churches until arriving at 5:45 p.m. at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, 18th Street and Benjamin Franklin Parkway.

Prayers will be said for churches that have closed and for no more closings.

Church to host fish fry on Saturday

Crescentville United Methodist Church, 412 Sentner St., will hold a fish fry on Saturday, May 30, from 4 to 7 p.m.

Platters cost $12. The menu consists of tilapia fish, rice, vegetable and dessert. Guests can eat in or take out.

Rhawnhurst NORC to meet May 28

The Rhawnhurst Naturally Occurring Retirement Community will meet on Thursday, May 28, at noon at Rhawnhurst Presbyterian Church, 7701 Loretto Ave.

The guest speaker will be Lynn Keehfus, eligibility coordinator for CCT Connect There will be a box lunch with beverage, side dish and dessert. The cost is $5.

Shredding event at O’Neill’s office

On Saturday, June 6, from 9 a.m. to noon, City Councilman Brian O’Neill will host a free shredding event in the parking lot of his office at 432 Rhawn St., behind American Heritage Federal Credit Union, in Fox Chase. The event is being sponsored by American Heritage Federal Credit Union.

Parx Casino to host live game show

Parx Casino, 2999 Street Road in Bensalem, will present The Parx Challenge Game Show featuring famed game show and talk show host Marc Summers on Saturday, May 30, at Pennsylvania’s number one casino.

Food Network and Nickelodeon personality Marc Summers will host the game show in which audience members will be randomly picked for a chance to win free slot play, gift cards, LED TVs, electronics and cash. The show will start at 3 p.m. at the 360 club inside the main casino. Tickets cost $10.

Schoolhouse Live! showing at Walnut Theatre

The Walnut Street Theatre invites kids, their families and their friends to enjoy Schoolhouse Live! JR., a real-life version of the Emmy Award-winning Saturday cartoon series, from May 29 through June 6. This is the Walnut Street Theatre for Kids’ season finale.

Mayfair Community Night is Thursday

State Rep. John Taylor (R-177th dist.) will sponsor a Mayfair Community Night on Thursday, May 28, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Mayfair Community Center, at 2990 St. Vincent St.

Among those scheduled to attend are the Mayfair Civic Association, Mayfair Community Development Association, Lansing Knights, 15th Police District, Philadelphia Gas Works, PECO Energy, SEPTA and the Philadelphia Water Department.

Tacony Civic to host Coach Bag Bingo

The Tacony Civic Association will sponsor Coach Bag Bingo on Friday, May 29, at Our Lady of Consolation Church hall, 7051 Tulip St. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Bingo starts at 7 p.m.

Pennypack Park concert is next week

The Pennypack Park Music Festival will continue on Wednesday, June 3, with a concert by Hollywood Nights, a Bob Seger tribute band.

The free concert will run from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. Alcohol is prohibited. The bandshell is located near the park entrance at Cresco Avenue and Welsh Road.
