Musicians with a Mission is a collective of professional jazz and blues performers who will present classic American popular songs that were influenced by the Jewish and Russian cultures. Admission to each show costs $25 for adults and $15 for seniors and students.

On Sunday, April 26, the Multicultural Arts Exchange will celebrate its ceremonial grand opening with a performance by longtime James Brown collaborator Fred Thomas at the Devon Theater, 6333 Frankford Ave., at 5 p.m.

In addition, the 52-year-old Kauriga Balalaika Orchestra will take the stage at the Settlement Music School’s Kardon-Northeast Branch, 3745 Clarendon Ave., on April 18 and June 6. The earlier show will start at 10:30 a.m. The time for the second show is to be determined. Admission is free, while donations will be accepted.

The Kauriga Balalaika Orchestra specializes in Russian folk music using the traditional instrumentation. Separately, the orchestra offers instructional workshops at Settlement.
