The June 11 meeting was moved to the Quaker Diner, 7241 Rising Sun Ave.

State Rep. Mark Cohen was in attendance. The offices of U.S. Rep. Brendan Boyle and state Sen. Tina Tartaglione presented Kastinos with citations.

The civic group gave the diner owner a plaque and flowers.

Jeanette Scally, the board secretary, described the diner as an anchor of the community.

In appreciation, Kastinos gave everyone in attendance a piece of cheesecake.

The Burholme Community Town Watch and Civic Association will meet again on Thursday, Sept. 10, at 7 p.m. at United Methodist Church of the Redeemer, at Cottman and Lawndale avenues. ••
