Frankford man arrested for shotgun shooting

Dennis Tindal

A 36-year-old Frankford resident was one of two men responsible for a shotgun blast on a busy Kensington block that left seven people wounded, including three children, on June 22. But police say that the man who actually fired the weapon remains at large.

Dennis Tindal, of the 5100 block of Charles St., prompted the gunfire, however, according to investigators. Police arrested him on July 7.

Prior to the shooting, Tindal allegedly had a verbal and physical altercation with three other men on the 700 block of E. Hilton St. He left the scene, only to return with a co-conspirator at about 2:30 p.m. Tindal allegedly supplied the accomplice with the shotgun, which he fired toward a group of people.

The victims included two men, ages 24 and 25, who were wounded critically; three girls ages 10, 10 and 3, who suffered graze wounds; along with a woman, 32, and man, 46, who were also grazed by buckshot. Police recovered the weapon at the scene.

Tindal was charged with seven counts of aggravated assault, conspiracy and related offenses. There is a $10,000 reward for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the shooter. He was described as black with dark skin, 25 to 30 years old, about 5–8 and stocky with a red and white tank top. Call 215–686-TIPS to report information. ••
