Driscoll, a Democrat, represents Tacony, East Mayfair, Holmesburg, Torresdale, Crestmont Farms and portions of the Far Northeast.

The new lawmaker’s office is located at 3294 Red Lion Road. It is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The phone number is 215–281–3414.

“My staff and I are ready to help the people of this district with any question or concern they may have related to state government or other key issues,” Driscoll said.

Driscoll also will provide updates online at www.pahouse.com/Driscoll and on the Rep. Michael Driscoll page on Facebook.

A Torresdale resident and married father of five, Driscoll replaces fellow Democrat Mike McGeehan, who did not run again after serving for 24 years.

The swearing-in ceremony took place on Jan. 6 at the state Capitol. It marked the beginning of the 199th session of the General Assembly.

The oath of office was administered by Pennsylvania Superior Court Judge Judith Ference Olson.

At a private ceremony, Driscoll took the oath of office from Philadelphia Common Pleas Court Judge Dan McCaffery.

“It is an honor to have been chosen by the people of the 173rd District, and I am eager to get to work on their behalf in Harrisburg,” Driscoll said.

Driscoll said his legislative priorities for his first term include adopting a fair education funding formula, expanding the local job base and advocating for senior citizens.

Driscoll said he has received multiple requests for help obtaining a long-form birth certificate, which is now required to obtain a passport.

“Providing assistance with state, local and federal programs or other key constituent issues is a big part of the job, and a great chance to meet the community,” he said. “My staff and I are here and ready to serve the district however we can.” ••
