The following area residents are among the 475 students graduating from Millersville University: Jessica Agger, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration; Amanda Allison, with a Bachelor of Science in Education in Middle Level Education; Sarah Balsley, with a Bachelor of Arts in Geography; and Julia Sides, with a Bachelor of Science in Education in Early Childhood and Special Education.

Twenty-three students in Sue Guay’s fall 2015 Interpersonal Communication class earned bylines in the December issue of Berks County Living magazine. The group included Haley Harrington and Kevin MacFarland.

Mary Baldwin College student Karlie Ethridge attended the Fourth Annual Harry Potter Conference at Chestnut Hill College. The academic conference focused on themes presented in J.K. Rowling’s literature. Ethridge also attended the conference because of her interest in Harry Potter scholarship. After the scholarly conference, she enjoyed the day at the Chestnut Hill Harry Potter festival.

Nine local students have been named to the dean’s list at University of the Sciences. Selection for this award is based on completing and passing all assigned courses with no grade below a “C” and attaining an academic average of at least 3.4. The following are all doctor of pharmacy students: Asla Ehtesham, Katherine Jiang, Nina Jiang, Yuting Jiang, Sherilin Joe, Jaison John, Jaimy Joseph, John Mark and Stacey Philip.

Alexis Jenofsky, a junior arts administration/English major at Albright College, spent the fall 2015 semester studying in London, England.

University of the Sciences inducted 44 new members into its Pennsylvania Kappa Chapter of the Alpha Chi National Honor Society. Among those inducted were Jeffy Mathew and Thomas Venditti. At USciences, Alpha Chi is open to the top 10 percent of juniors, seniors and graduate students.

A group of Delaware Law School graduates took their oaths and were inducted into the Pennsylvania Bar recently at a ceremony at City Hall. Presiding over the event was Common Pleas Court President Judge Sheila Woods-Skipper. Also joining in were Common Pleas Court Judges Paul P. Panepinto, George W. Overton and Margaret T. Murphy, all of whom are Delaware Law School graduates. Murphy lives in Somerton. The inductees included Candace Cannon, who is married to Frank Visco, and is the daughter of Joseph and Marylynn Cannon. ••
