Teen critically injured in Holmesburg shooting

An argument in a driveway behind a Holmesburg pizza parlor sparked a shooting that left a 17-year-old boy in critical condition on Thanksgiving eve.

Witnesses have told investigators that an altercation between youths on the 4700 block of Oakmont St. escalated at about 6:20 p.m. when a relative of one of the kids showed up with a gun, police said. Shots were fired. The wounded teen, whose name has not been released, was taken by a private vehicle to Nazareth Hospital with a single wound of the stomach. He was later airlifted to Temple University Hospital and upgraded to serious but stable condition.
