Police seek Lexington Park prowler

A hooded prowler returned to an elderly couple’s Lexington Park home three times in less than two hours early on Dec. 4 in an apparent attempt to burglarize the place. He failed to get inside, but did some damage to the windows, police said.

Investigators hope that surveillance video will help them identify the culprit. The unknown man arrived at about 12:30 a.m. wearing a hoodie and jeans. He also had a long beard, although his race and the color of his clothing is undetectable from the blurry night-vision recording.

The man appeared to throw an object at the house before leaving the yard, only to return at about 1:15 a.m. He prowled some more, left the property and returned a third time shortly before 2 a.m.

The elderly couple reported to police that they were awaken to find that their screens had been cut and two windows broken. They called 911 at about 1:53 a.m. The suspect fled before police arrived.
