A man who used a demand note in an attempt to rob a Crescentville bank on March 13 was also responsible for a similar hold-up on North Broad Street six days earlier, according to authorities.
The FBI and Philadelphia police are still trying to identify and find the robber, who was described as black, in his 30s or 40s, 6 feet tall and thin with a salt and pepper goatee beard.
On March 13, he entered the Wells Fargo at 700 Adams Ave. at about 11:25 a.m. wearing a burnt orange leather jacket, black skull cap and blue jeans. He showed a demand note to the teller, but fled the bank empty handed. He was last seen eastbound on Adams.
On March 7, the same man allegedly entered the Wells Fargo at 2843 N. Broad St. at about 9:15 a.m., showed a demand note to a teller, obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and ran in an unknown direction. He wore a dark winter jacket and skull cap.
