The heist occurred at 2:38 p.m. at Family Dollar, 5807 Torresdale Ave. in Wissinoming, when the unknown robber approached the cashier, pulled up his shirt to reveal a gun in his belt area and demanded money. The employee surrendered an undisclosed amount of cash. The crook was last seen fleeing toward Howell Street. No injuries were reported.

Police believe that the same man previously committed similar robberies at Dollar Tree, 8045 Frankford Ave., on July 19; Family Dollar, 4501 Castor Ave., on July 12; Oxford Dollar, 5401 Oxford Ave., on July 10; and King Perfume, 4602 Frankford Ave., on June 11.

He has been described as black, 50 years old, six feet tall, with a medium complexion, clean shaven face, dark baseball cap, white button-down shirt over a blue undershirt, dark pants and sunglasses.
