Stephen Purcell was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. Purcell is pursuing a degree in English at Villanova University. He is among about 32,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year.

The following local residents have been named to Millersville University’s dean’s list for the spring 2015 semester: Stephanie Bradley, Julia Morgan-Agricoli, John Schoenewald and Julia Sides. The 1,224 students named to Millersville University’s spring 2015 dean’s list earned a semester grade-point average of 3.50 or higher and attempted at least 12 credits of course work.

John Paul Welsh received a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from Marist College in New York.

The honor roll lists for Graceland University’s 2015 spring term have been announced, and Brooke Lavery has been named to the president’s list. Graceland University students with a perfect 4.0 grade point average are named to the president’s list. The university is located in Iowa.

Bucknell University conferred 860 bachelor’s and 30 master’s degrees during recent commencement ceremonies. Akim Adams, son of George and Anna Adams and a graduate of George Washington High School, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in physics. Sumaira Dawari, daughter of Hayatullah and Umra Dawari, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology. Wenhui Xie, son of Xirong Xie and Lichu Zhou, graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy and classics and departmental honors in philosophy. Xie received the W. Preston Warren Prize as the senior showing the greatest achievement and promise in philosophy.

Kenneth Milano, an accounting major, was named to Susquehanna University’s dean’s list for the spring 2015 semester. The dean’s list recognizes students who achieve a grade point average of 3.4 or higher out of a possible 4.0 for the semester. Milano, a 2011 graduate of Father Judge High School, is the son of Ken and Joy Milano.

Lehigh University students Kaitlin Dyson and Melanie Grajales attained dean’s list in the spring semester. This status is granted to students who earned a scholastic average of 3.6 or better while carrying at least 12 hours of regularly graded courses.

More than 1,900 Lehigh University students were awarded bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degrees during the 147th spring commencement ceremonies. Niki Patel received a Doctor of Philosophy. Yuhua Chen received a B.S. in integrated business/engineering.

Ketsy Caraballo-Garcia won the Joann Rutter Hartman Award, presented to an elementary education upperclass student for outstanding dedication to reading education, at York College’s annual Student Recognition Ceremony. Christopher Rafferty won the Student Senate Service Award for outstanding service to the college and community during the academic year, and the WVYC Award, presented to the student staff member who contributes most to the operation of the college radio station

Richard Graber and Ashley Sexton, students at Misericordia University, were named to the dean’s list for the spring 2015 semester. Students qualify for the dean’s list with a 3.55 grade point average or higher.

William Hill was among 161 students who graduated from Davis & Elkins College during the 106th commencement ceremony. Hill, a son of William Hill and Raphael Hill-Rudd, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in criminology.

Elizabeth Teresa Magee received a master of science in occupational therapy and a bachelor of science in health science from Alvernia University’s School of Graduate and Adult Education. She also minored in psychology. ••
