Burholme Town Watch discusses future of Gibbons PAL

The Burholme Community Town Watch and Civic Association met on Sept. 11, and members gave a standing ovation to 2nd Police District community relations officer Dianne Murphy in observance of the 13th anniversary of the terrorist bombings that killed hundreds of first responders.

In other news from the meeting, held at United Methodist Church of the Redeemer, state Rep. Mark Cohen said he is working with Nancy Ostroff to see if the Gibbons Police Athletic League facility can be saved, or if another site can be found. The local PAL site has had a long lease at Trinity Church Oxford, but the church is looking to develop the property where the site operates.
