Teen found unconscious along Boulevard

A 15-year-old girl who had been reported missing was found lying unconscious in her school uniform alongside Roosevelt Boulevard in the Northeast’s Sandyford Park section on Monday evening.

A man walking on the sidewalk on the northbound side of the Boulevard spotted the girl at about 7:45 p.m., police said. She was behind a guardrail in some brush. The witness called 911. The girl regained consciousness after police arrived. There was no initial evidence of a sexual assault. The girl was taken to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children with complaints of “leg and shoulder pain,” police said.

The girl’s parents had reported her missing at about 7 p.m. when she had not returned to the family’s home in the 7th Police District after school. She is enrolled at Community Academy of Philadelphia, a public charter school at J Street and Erie Avenue in Juniata Park.

A police commander reportedly told Philly.com that the girl typically takes SEPTA home from school, although it was uncertain if she took her usual route on Monday afternoon. ••
