Keep your neighborhood safe with new Dog Walker Watch program

While you’re taking your pooch out for a walk and a sniff around, you might see things happening on your neighborhood streets.

That’s why you and all the other dog walkers should contact your local Town Watch and help its members report crimes to police.

It’s pretty easy, and, according to the Mayfair Town Watch, it won’t affect your personal routines. You’re out on the streets with your pets anyway. Why not help out? It’s simple, too. You take your pooch for a walk and “observe.” See something suspicious? Call 911. See a pothole? Report to 311.

The Mayfair Town Watch and the Tacony/Holmesburg Town Watch will teach you what to look for and give you resources to find solutions. Interested dog walkers will be invited to a Power Point presentation for explanations. As a token of appreciation and involvement, once you become an official member of Dog Walker Watch, your pooch will receive a custom dog tag.

This is a boundary-free operation. It is a collaboration between Mayfair Town Watch and Tacony/Holmesburg Town Watch, which means that anyone in the surrounding communities can join. Email ourdogwalkerwatch@gmail.com

You should supply your name, address and contact info. ••
