Lt. George Holcombe of the Neighborhood Services Unit will be fired after a mandatory 30-day suspension, the police department said in a news release on Monday. The quarrel occurred on the 4600 block of Kraydor St. Police did not specify what connection Holcombe or the woman has to the block.

During a verbal confrontation, Holcombe allegedly threatened the woman. When patrol cops were called to the scene, Holcombe allegedly “struggled” with them, the police department said. The motive for the argument has not been disclosed.

Holcombe, 42, is a 23-year veteran of the police force. He was charged with aggravated assault on police, simple assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, terroristic threats, harassment and endangering the welfare of a child. The police department’s Internal Affairs Bureau and the District Attorney’s Office investigated the case. ••
