The Mayfair Business Association continues to plan for the 38th annual Mayfair Holmesburg Thanksgiving Parade, scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 23, at noon.
The rain date is Nov. 30.
The grand marshals will be the staff of Holmesburg Bakery. The theme will be How Sweet It Is.
The route travels south on Frankford Avenue, from Rhawn Street to Knorr Street. Musical groups will perform for three minutes at Tudor Street.

In other news, the business association will sponsor a Christmas tree-lighting ceremony and Christmas village on Sunday, Dec. 7, from noon to 5 p.m. outside Republic Bank, at Frankford and Ryan avenues.
The group will also team with the Mayfair Civic Association to hold a Christmas decoration contest for homes and businesses in the neighborhood. Meanwhile, the business and civic associations will be monitoring whether City Council passes a measure that would create an overlay that would prohibit new Laundromats, beauty parlors, nail salons, cell phone stores, pawn shops, thrift shops, used furniture stores and some other businesses in the neighborhood. The City Planning Commission opposes the move.
The neighborhood had a similar overlay that was eliminated when Philadelphia adopted a new zoning code in 2012.
The business group will be looking into the city’s Business Security Camera Program. The city and businesses share the cost of exterior cameras that would provide footage of crimes to police.
