Man shot in Wissinoming attempted robbery

A 24-year-old man suffered a gun­shot wound of the shoulder dur­ing an at­temp­ted rob­bery in Wissi­nom­ing last Thursday.

The man and his girl­friend were walk­ing in the area of Frank­ford and Chel­ten­ham av­en­ues at about 1 a.m. when a gray car oc­cu­pied by three men ap­proached them. The crooks poin­ted a gun at the couple, said Lt. Den­nis Rosen­baum of North­east De­tect­ives.

As the couple ran, gun­shots rang out with one of the slugs strik­ing the male vic­tim’s right shoulder. The as­sail­ants fled in an un­known dir­ec­tion. The wounded man was treated at Aria Health-Tor­res­dale and re­leased.

No ar­rests have been made in the case. The rob­bers were de­scribed as three black man. One is 6 feet 3 inches tall and heavy-set with a beard. He wore a gray hood­ie. A second rob­ber was de­scribed only as 5 feet 7 inches. tall. No fur­ther de­scrip­tion was avail­able for the third rob­ber.
