Turn trash to treasure at workshop

Learn how to make something out of something you thought was worth­less — trash.

Joel Spivak will show you how to have fun turn­ing or­din­ary trash in­to treas­ure at the “Mak­ing Something Out of Noth­ing” work­shop from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sat­urday, May 24, at at the of­fice of the Tookany/Ta­cony-Frank­ford Wa­ter­shed Part­ner­ship at the Globe Dye Works, 4500 Worth St., third floor.

In this work­shop, par­ti­cipants will learn new ways of see­ing and cre­at­ing art us­ing dis­carded ma­ter­i­als from every­day use. Things nor­mally thrown away or ig­nored take on new mean­ings as they be­come ele­ments of artist­ic com­pos­i­tions.
