Police announce arrest of Burholme Wawa robbery suspect

Up­date: Po­lice on Wed­nes­day an­nounced the ar­rest of Chris­toph­er Moore, 43, in con­nec­tion with the fol­low­ing rob­bery. After re­leas­ing video of the crime to the pub­lic, po­lice re­ceived sev­er­al ci­vil­ian tips about the iden­tity of the al­leged rob­ber. Of­ficers ar­res­ted Moore on Tues­day at his home on the 1600 block of Van Kirk St.

St. Patrick’s Day may end up be­ing lucky after all for Phil­adelphia de­tect­ives in­vest­ig­at­ing the early Monday armed rob­bery of a Burholme con­veni­ence store be­cause sur­veil­lance cam­er­as cap­tured clear, sharp im­ages of the uniden­ti­fied gun­man.

Po­lice re­leased the video to the pub­lic on Monday af­ter­noon. The heist oc­curred at about 12:18 a.m. when a man entered the Wawa at 800 Cottman Ave., asked a clerk for a pack of ci­gar­ettes, pulled a hand­gun on the clerk and de­man­ded cash, po­lice said. 

The rob­ber ob­tained an un­dis­closed amount of money and fled. He was last seen walk­ing north­bound on Rock­well Av­en­ue from Cottman Av­en­ue.

The rob­ber was de­scribed as white, 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a me­di­um build and short brown hair. He wore a black puffy jack­et, gloves, black pants and black shoes.
