The magic of reading

  • Turn the page: The National Education Association’s Read Across America Day was on March 3. Due to weather, Kennedy Crossan Elementary School participated on March 7 instead. Local volunteers, parents, and politicians came to the school to read different Dr. Seuss books for several hours in the morning to 10 different classes.

  • City Councilman Denny O’Brien reads books to a group of fourth-graders at the school.

  • Diane Squaresky reads books to a group of fourth-graders at Kennedy Crossan Elementary School.

  • One of the kindergarten classes gathers on its story-telling carpet to hear Dr. Seuss’s The Cat in the Hat.
