Two arrested following Andalusia hit-and-run

Two people have been ar­res­ted for a car ac­ci­dent that killed a Phil­adelphia man as he walked along Bris­tol Pike near Wood­haven Road in An­dalusia last on June 19.

Melissa Rasiul, of Ben­s­alem, was ar­res­ted for the hit-and-run ac­ci­dent that killed Vin­cent Peavy.

Steph­en Pa­gano, also of Ben­s­alem, has been charged for al­legedly cov­er­ing up the crime. He is be­ing charged with tam­per­ing with evid­ence.

Ben­s­alem Town­ship po­lice re­ceived a tip that led in­vest­ig­at­ors to Rasiul and the vehicle she drove, a 2003 GMC pickup truck. Rasiul is be­ing charged with ac­ci­dents in­volving death (hit and run) and for driv­ing with a sus­pen­ded li­cense.

Po­lice say the crash happened between 6:35 and 6:45 p.m. A wit­ness found Peary, age un­known, ly­ing on the shoulder of the south­bound lane of the 4100 block of Bris­tol Pike. He was taken to Aria Health-Tor­res­dale, where he later died.

The strik­ing vehicle fled the scene be­fore au­thor­it­ies ar­rived. ••
